Created by the parents of two young children, the organization seeks to help parents make healthy food choices for their children and their family. Better World Health provides practical information and discussion forums to encourage health consciousness for the lifelong health of children.
Founders Peter and Susie Cahill merged their love for their children with their philosophies about nutrition and health to form Better World Health and its sister company, The Fun Yum Friends. Susie Cahill's organic garden inspired Peter Cahill to tell their children bedtime stories based on fruit and vegetable characters. Those stories were published in book and CD form as a way to expose other young children to positive associations with fruits and vegetables at the earliest stages, and The Fun Yum Friends were born. Wildly entertaining, The Fun Yum Friends make healthy eating fun and teach young children fun ways to engage in physical activity. A live stage show featuring The Fun Yum Friends has been performed across Australia and will soon be available in DVD format. A Fun Yum Friends television series is currently in production.
The Better World Health Web site is a practical resource center where parents can learn how to serve kids healthy foods, and contains tips, recipes, news and facts about healthy eating and childhood obesity for busy parents. Better World Health and The Fun Yum Friends were founded on the Cahill's own efforts to ensure the wellbeing of their daughters, expanded to benefit children everywhere.
Better World Health and The Fun Yum Friends were founded in Melbourne Australia in 2006. The United States office is based in Rye Brook, New York.
